HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
2.1
Emergency
Overview
HMIS (US
only):
Health 1, Fire Hazard 1, Reactivity 0
NFPA: Health
0, Flammability 0, Reactivity 0
WARNING
Will Burn
Skin when hot. If a fire should occur, toxic fumes and gases may be
emitted. Fight fire with water, CO2, or dry chemical.
2.2
OSHA
Regulatory Status
As shipped, this material is not considered hazardous by the
OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200).
2.3
Potential
Health Effects
Primary routes of entry are ingestion of pellets and
inhalation of dust. Ingestion is a low health risk because any
potentially hazardous components are encapsulated. Inhalation of dust is
a possibility in a regrind area. Potential for exposure exceeding the
PEL exists. If adequate ventilation is not available in grinding area
respiratory protection is recommended for hazardous and/or nuisance
dust.
2.4
Potential
Environmental Affects
None Known.

SECTION
4 FIRST AID MEASURES
Skin Contact: The most
probable injury associated with this product is thermal burns during
processing. Hot plastic can stick to skin. This can aggravate burns. If
a burn occurs, cool the area as rapidly as possible using cool water,
NOT ICE. If plastic is stuck to skin, do not remove it. SEEK MEDICAL
ATTENTION.
Eye
Contact: If dust
should get into eyes, use available eye wash and SEEK MECICAL
ATTENTION.
Inhalation: If excess
dust is inhaled, SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION.
Ingestion: If pellets
are ingested, do not induce vomiting. SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION
SECTION 5
FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
The flash point of this material is over 400°
F. If a fire
should occur, toxic fumes and gases may be emitted. Wear self-contained
breathing apparatus when fighting a fire. Carbon monoxide and other
toxic substances may be in the air. Fire or explosion can occur from
dust build-up. Use proper grounding and bonding techniques where dust
concentrations are possible. Fight fires with water, CO2, or dry
chemical.
SECTION 6
ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
This product, as it is shipped to customers, is non-hazardous. If a
spill should occur, sweep the material into proper containers and reuse
or dispose of according to federal, state, and local regulations.
SECTION
7 HANDLING AND STORAGE
This product is normally shipped in Gaylord boxes. These boxes should
not be stored more than three high. The boxes and plastic materials will
burn in the presence of open flame. Do not weld or use open flame where
product is stored without proper fire fighting prevention procedures.

Physical State of
Product: If
this product exists as a pellet, any hazardous ingredients are
encapsulated and pose no significant threat to human health or the
environment. In any other physical state, potential for exposure exists.
Grinding and chipping will change the physical state of the product.
8.1
Engineering Controls:
Localized ventilation is recommended.
8.2
Personal
Protective Equipment:
Inhalation of dust is a possibility in a grinding area. If adequate
ventilation is not available in grinding areas, respiratory protection
is recommended. Wash thoroughly after handling and before eating or
drinking.
